Twitter has released its year-end stats, giving us a look into what our collective consciousness was interested in over the course of 2017.
The top two most-liked tweets echoed the tumultuous political year; Obama’s response to the Charlottesville alt-right rally and subsequent violence was the most-liked and second most-retweeted tweet this year, while Adriana Grande’s reaction to the suicide bomb outside her Manchester concert was the second most-liked.
On a lighter note, a call for Wendy’s to make chicken nuggets became the most retweeted tweet, with an insane 3,635,697 retweets (and counting).
In pop culture, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and 13 Reasons Why were the most talked-about shows. Wonder Woman became the most-tweeted about movie in the U.S., with mentions of La La Land, Dunkirk, and Spider-Man: Homecomingfollowing closely behind.
South Korean boyband BTS were the most-tweeted about musicians in the U.S., (and the most-tweeted about celebrities worldwide) with Nicki Minaj, Harry Styles, and Chance the Rapper coming in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
