Prophets Of Rage, Consisting of Members from Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill Announce Tampa Concert Date

Prophets of Rage are hitting the road this summer, or rather, according to their website, “bringing the raging messages to the masses.” The band, (NOT supergroup) consisting of Rage Against the Machine minus Zach De La Rocha, Chuck D of Public Enemy, B-Real of Cypress Hill and DJ Lord, will be traveling America’s highways starting July 19 in Cleveland. I know, crazy coincidence, that is also when the Republican National Convention is in town. The Make America Rage Again tour will run through the middle of October, although you can expect the band to keep themselves busy right up until Election Day on Nov. 4. Prophets of Rage may have a passing interest in politics.

The band made their East Coast debut Sunday night at Warsaw, a club in Brooklyn, N.Y. It was a make-up spot, as they had planned on pulling a drop-in at Governors Ball 2016, but the third day of the festival was cancelled due to inclement weather. The show’s set list was similar to their L.A. show last week, at which they pulled from the catalogs of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill, as well as dropped a new song, “The Party’s Over,” and a cover of the Beastie Boys’ classic “No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn.”
